The market for GEO services appeared almost from nothing in late 2025 and has grown fast enough to produce a lot of agencies claiming expertise they do not have. This list cuts through that. We have assessed each agency against a consistent set of criteria so you can make an informed choice, not just trust whoever wrote the most confident blog post.
We are one of the agencies on this list. We have been transparent about that, and we have applied the same criteria to ourselves that we applied to everyone else.
What is a generative engine optimisation agency?
A GEO agency optimises your brand for visibility inside AI-generated answers, not just traditional Google rankings. When someone asks ChatGPT “which UK homeware brand should I buy from?” or Perplexity “best eCommerce SEO agency in the UK”, the AI pulls from indexed sources, review signals, entity data, and authoritative content to generate its response. A GEO agency builds the signals that make your brand the one it reaches for.
This is different from SEO. SEO earns rankings. GEO earns citations. Both matter in 2026, and the best agencies deliver both. For how this is already reshaping Google’s own results, see our breakdown of how AI Overviews change eCommerce search.
How we selected this list
We assessed agencies on six criteria:
- A documented GEO methodology, not a repurposed SEO service with new branding
- Published case studies with measurable AI visibility results
- Coverage across the major platforms: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot
- Technical capability: llms.txt configuration, AI crawler access, schema, entity management
- Client reviews verifiable on Google or independent platforms
- Transparent pricing or at least clear engagement models
No agency paid to appear on this list.
The best GEO agencies in the UK (2026)
1. Straight Up Search
Website: straightupsearch.com
Best for: eCommerce brands, SaaS companies and B2B lead generation businesses that need GEO and SEO delivered together
Pricing: From £595/month (GEO Starter add-on) to £995/month (GEO Full), with bundle packages from £1,990/month combining SEO retainers and GEO. All prices ex-VAT (see full pricing).
Straight Up Search is a boutique UK agency that pairs technical SEO with generative engine optimisation. Jamie Irwin founded and runs the agency and handles strategy directly for every client, which keeps the quality consistent. The agency keeps its client roster deliberately small, working mainly with eCommerce retailers, SaaS products and lead generation businesses.
The GEO service is built around five components: AI crawler access (llms.txt, robots.txt configuration for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot), full entity and schema deployment (Organisation, FAQ, Article, Speakable, Product), weekly AI brand monitoring across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Bing Copilot, a proprietary Citability Score that measures how likely AI is to cite your brand and tracks it monthly, and conversational query content targeted at the long-form questions AI answers pull from.
The Citability Score is genuinely useful. Most agencies report AI visibility through share-of-voice snapshots, which are point-in-time and hard to trend. A monthly scoring model gives you a direction of travel.
Rolling monthly contracts with 30 days’ notice. 10% annual discount available.

2. Impression Digital
Website: impressiondigital.com
Best for: Mid-market to enterprise brands wanting GEO integrated with a broader organic and PR programme
Pricing: Not published; request a quote
Impression is a full-service performance marketing agency based in Nottingham with a strong organic team. Their GEO work is grounded in real results. Working with Tensar, a global leader in geosynthetics, they delivered 1,793 AI Overview citations globally, 47,604 organic clicks from AI Overview keywords, and 7.9 million organic impressions across AI Overview keywords, all measured via Ahrefs and Google Search Console. That level of attribution is rare in GEO reporting.
Their approach centres on brand building (PR, social proof, off-site authority), content structured for LLM extractability, and technical GEO covering AI crawler access and schema. The team includes dedicated SEO and PR specialists, so GEO does not sit awkwardly inside a single service line.
Domain rating: 68 (Ahrefs, September 2026). Suits brands that need scale and are comfortable with the billing model of a larger agency.
3. Quirky Digital
Website: quirkydigital.com
Best for: SMEs and mid-market businesses across sectors wanting a combined SEO and GEO approach
Pricing: Not published; quote required
Quirky Digital offers a combined SEO and GEO service aimed at SMEs and mid-market businesses, and competes for GEO searches against agencies with considerably higher domain ratings. Their GEO page includes a named client case study (Fxify) with results from LLM-driven traffic, which is more outcome evidence than many agencies in this space publish.
Their methodology combines a joint SEO and GEO audit, LSI keyword research for AI context signals, technical structured data, crawlability, and PR and link building. They work across sectors, not just eCommerce.
Domain rating: 39 (Ahrefs, September 2026).
4. The SEO Works
Website: seoworks.co.uk
Best for: Mid-market businesses wanting a specialist SEO-first agency that has built GEO into its core methodology
Pricing: Not published
The SEO Works is a Sheffield-based agency with offices in London and Leeds and 80-plus specialists. Their GEO offer is built around what they call Universal Information Infrastructure: treating a brand’s digital presence as a consistent, crawlable record that AI systems can reliably trust and cite. Their GEO service page runs to nearly 3,000 words and includes case studies, a clear FAQ section, and a CEO quote that treats GEO as a structural shift rather than a bolt-on tactic.
They have been operating long enough to have real-world data on what works across different sectors and query types. A solid choice if you need scale and sector depth.
5. Epic New Media
Website: epicnewmedia.co.uk
Best for: B2B brands and professional services wanting a phased, process-driven GEO engagement
Pricing: Not published; free AI search gap analysis offered
Epic New Media’s GEO methodology is one of the more clearly structured in this list. They break their engagement into phases: months one to three focus on correcting the entity record (Google Business Profile, Companies House, Crunchbase, LinkedIn, Wikidata), improving AI crawlability, and establishing a citation baseline. Months three to six move to extractable content and third-party seeding. Months six to twelve build authority and coverage, with ongoing measurement and strategy after that.
That phased model is honest about timeline. GEO is not instant, and agencies that promise results in weeks without explaining the mechanism are worth questioning. Epic’s page includes three named case studies: Paul Crowley and Co Solicitors, Ringway Dental, and Ruler Analytics.
Domain rating: 16 (Ahrefs, September 2026).
6. Push Group
Website: pushgroup.co.uk
Best for: Brands focused on AI-driven product discovery and eCommerce selection queries
Pricing: Not published
Push Group positions GEO around a specific problem: being selected by AI when a user is making a product or service decision, not just cited passively. Their service covers GEO content strategy, technical optimisation (schema, AI bot crawlability, multimodal signals), brand authority and digital PR, and monitoring. The statistics they cite on AI adoption rates and market growth are sourced and specific rather than vague.
A straightforward, commercially focused agency that suits brands where AI-driven product discovery is a real revenue channel.
7. Propeller Digital
Website: propeller.co.uk
Best for: UK brands wanting GEO delivered as part of a structured AI SEO service line
Pricing: Not published
Propeller Digital positions GEO within a broader AI SEO service and shows up in UK search results for AI SEO queries. Their service description emphasises AI search audits, ongoing AI visibility management, and helping UK brands appear inside AI-generated answers. There is less publicly available detail on methodology than some agencies on this list, but a visible search presence for AI SEO queries is its own signal of credibility.
What to ask a GEO agency before you hire one
Most of the questions in our guide to choosing an eCommerce SEO agency apply here too. These are the GEO-specific ones.
How do you measure AI visibility? Share-of-voice snapshots are standard. Ask whether they track it monthly, which platforms they cover (ChatGPT and Google AI answer the same questions differently), and whether they can show you a client’s baseline versus a recent snapshot.
Can you show a case study with attribution? AI citation data is messy. The better agencies are building measurement frameworks (Ahrefs AI Overview reporting, custom prompt monitoring, referral traffic from AI platforms). Vague claims about “improved visibility” are not good enough.
Do you configure AI crawler access, or just recommend it? llms.txt and robots.txt configuration for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Gemini crawler is technical work. Ask who does it and what they check.
How do you handle entity disambiguation? Your brand’s record across Google Business Profile, Companies House, Wikidata, LinkedIn and Crunchbase needs to be consistent for AI systems to cite you confidently. Ask if they audit and correct this as part of onboarding.
What is your content approach? AI pulls passages, not pages. Content that earns citations is structured with question-led headings, specific figures, and clear answers. Ask to see an example of content they have produced for a GEO brief.
GEO agency FAQs
How long does GEO take to show results?
Entity corrections and technical access improvements can shift AI behaviour within a few weeks. Consistent citation authority takes three to six months to build. Agencies promising top citations in days are not being straight with you.
How much does a GEO agency cost?
Most UK GEO agencies do not publish their pricing. From what is published, standalone GEO retainers tend to run from around £500 to £2,000 per month, and combined SEO and GEO packages from roughly £2,000 to £4,000 per month depending on scope. Bespoke enterprise engagements sit above that.
Is GEO a replacement for SEO?
No. Traditional search rankings still drive the majority of referral traffic for most businesses. GEO addresses a growing surface area where AI answers appear before organic results or instead of them. The businesses doing well in 2026 are running both.
Can any business benefit from GEO?
GEO has a higher return for categories where AI answers include recommendations: professional services, SaaS, B2B products, consumer brands in competitive categories. If your category does not appear in ChatGPT or AI Overview answers, GEO investment will have limited direct return until it does.
How is GEO different from answer engine optimisation (AEO)?
The terms are used interchangeably. GEO tends to refer specifically to optimisation for generative AI (LLM-based) answer surfaces. AEO is sometimes used more broadly to include voice search and featured snippets. For practical purposes in 2026, treat them as the same thing.
Choosing the right GEO agency
If you are an eCommerce, SaaS or B2B brand in the UK, the agencies on this list are all capable of doing the work. The differentiating factors come down to: whether you need GEO standalone or integrated with SEO, what level of reporting detail you require, and whether you want a boutique relationship or a scaled team.
For brands that need both disciplines without being buried in a large agency’s client roster, Straight Up Search offers GEO as a standalone add-on or bundled with SEO retainers, with a rolling monthly model and no lock-in.
